Even with a scorching close to Country Thunder Saskatchewan, fans were still able to keep their cool. Sunday was the fourth and final day of the event, with temperatures hitting the mid 30s. Digital Manager Megan Benoit says she’s been “very impressed” by the fans’ preparation for the festival, especially during the heat wave over the weekend. “We have not seen a ton of incidents that have had to be elevated to our medical team, and I think it’s because people are taking really good care of themselves,” she said. “They’re taking the necessary precautions, they’re aware of the weather and I think that their own safety measures are really helping.” According to Benoit, there have been some “minor medical situations” that have required attention from the on-site medical team but no major situations. It was a pleasant surprise for staff during a hot weekend. “I want to say two years ago it was pretty similar as well, but this one’s toasty.” she added. Final attendance hasn’t officially been recorded just yet, but as of Sunday afternoon, Benoit says that the festival received over 20,000 attendees.
