A multi-agency investigation is underway after a man’s body was discovered at the scene of a house fire in Regina Sunday morning. Fire crews responded to the blaze on the 1300 block of Wascana Street at around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a social media post from RFPS. One person was found dead inside the home. As of 6:30 a.m., the fire was deemed under control, and a search of the house revealed no other injuries. In an update issued at 10:40 a.m., the City of Regina announced a joint investigation was underway between the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, the Regina Police Service (RPS) and RFPS. “No additional information is available at this time,” the update read. “Further details will be shared as soon as appropriate.” Just before 11 a.m., RPS issued its own update, reporting that the victim has been identified and their family has been notified. The service ended its update by asking anyone with information surrounding the blaze to reach out to police or Regina Crime Stoppers.
