Porsche is recalling more than 25,000 vehicles in Canada because the rearview camera image may not appear on the display, increasing the risk of a crash. “On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the display,” the notice says. “A rearview camera image that doesn’t display could reduce a driver’s ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.” The affected models include: - Porsche 911 Carrera, model years 2020-2025
- Porsche 911 Turbo, model years 2020-2025
- Porsche Cayenne, model years 2019-2025
- Porsche Panamera, model years 2024-2025
- Porsche Taycan, model years 2020-2025
According to the notice, Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Porsche will notify affected owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to update the driver assistance system control unit software.
